Student Tech Support (STS) and Volunteer Tech Support (VTS) Resources

• Volunteer Opportunities Flyer  - This is a one page flyer describing the two volunteer programs.

• Volunteer Checklist – This checklist guides volunteers through the different steps necessary to become a volunteer at a local school – from signing up on the Student Tech Support registry through final placement at the volunteer site.

• Volunteer Ethics Agreement – The Ethics Agreement is signed by all volunteers before they begin.

• Youth Development Information & Activity – This document is designed to help volunteers work with students more effectively. Page 1 describes the Youth Development approach to working with students.  Page 2 is an exercise for the potential volunteer.  Rather than using a common “negative” term to describe certain student behavior – think of words that describe the benefits of and positive aspects of that behavior.  Often how we speak of students influences their behavior and affects our interactions.
